Day 8 was filled with exhilarating tennis but also tragedy, as Dimitrov had to retire injured after being 2-0 up against Jannik Sinner. But aside from Sinner's lucky break, we saw brilliance yet again from Andreeva, and Djokovic is still on his quest to win that illustrious 8th Wimbledon title. Will day 9 bring us the same entertainment? We look at the today's matches hoping they do.
Centre Court (1:30pm)
Aryna Sabalenka *1 vs Laura Siegemund (GER) – With the competition narrowing down, it seems the stars may be aligning for Sabalenka in her bid to win Wimbledon for the first time in her career. She has made the semi-finals twice and will be hoping to reach that stage once more. She faces a high-spirited Laura Siegemund, who took down Madison Keys in the 3rd round on her way to the quarterfinal, this being the furthest she has made it. Unfortunately, this will most likely be the end of the road for the German, but expect an exhilarating match.
Cameron Norrie (GBR) vs Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) *2 – On his mission to secure the three-peat, Carlos Alcaraz comes up against Britain’s Cameron Norrie, who, for the first time in 3 years, enters the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Norrie has shown glimpses of being back to his best, defeating Tiafoe in the second round on his way to facing Alcaraz. He will be hoping that the support of the nation will push him through this seemingly impossible task, as Alcaraz has shown no sign of slowing down, dismantling Rublev in the last round. But have no doubt, this match will be a blockbuster.
No.1 Court (1pm)
Taylor Fritz (USA) *5 vs Karen Khachanov *17 – Fritz's journey to the quarterfinal has been a mix of gruelling five-set matches and disappointing retirements, as his last opponent, Jordan Thompson, had to go off injured in the fourth round. Today, the American faces off against Khachanov, who up until now hasn't faced an opponent in the top 30 but will be looking to present himself on the biggest stage today. However, the former world No. 8 has looked rather slick on grass this year and will be wanting to build on that success yet again. But will the American be too much to handle?
Amanda Anisimova (USA) *13 vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova – Having defeated Naomi Osaka in the third round and Sonny Kartal in the fourth, Pavlyuchenkova will be full of confidence coming into what will be her toughest challenge yet – Amanda Anisimova. The American will be hoping to progress to the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time in her career, last losing to Simona Halep in 2022. Out of the two, Pavlyuchenkova has seemed the more confident, but will she be able to roll back the years and progress to the next round?

Rinky Hijikata (AUS) & David Pel (NED) vs Rafael Matos (BRA) & Marcelo Melo (BRA)
Olivia Gadecki (AUS) & Desirae Krawczyk (USA) vs Caroline Dolehide (USA) & Sofia Kenin (USA) *16
