After a fantastic day 4 of tennis, which saw Cilic roll back the years against Draper and Sinner dishing out even more devastation on his opponents, we look at today's high octane action, and what's in store.
Centre Court (1.30pm)
Taylor Fritz (USA) 5 vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) *26 – After coming off the back of 2 gruelling 5 set matches, Fritz will be looking for a quick finish to this one. But will he get it? Fokina narrowly lost to Fritz a few weeks ago at Eastbourne and will be looking for some revenge today.
Jan-Lennard Struff (GER) vs Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) *2 – Alcaraz faced a challenging start in his mission to retain Wimbledon for a third consecutive year, but made mincemeat of a young and talented Oliver Tarvet in the second round. He comes up against a strong opponent in Struff, who took Alcaraz all the way to 5 sets 3 years ago, and will be looking to go even further this time. Will there be another upset?
Aryna Sabalenka *1 vs Emma Raducanu (GBR) – Raducanu has looked very strong in the first two rounds, overcoming the 2023 Wimbledon champion Vondrousova with ease, which Sabalenka was unable to do two weeks ago in Berlin. It will still be a tall task for Raducanu to take down the new titan of women’s tennis, but expect a fantastic game.
No 1 Court (1pm)
Diane Parry (FRA) vs Sonay Kartal (GBR) – With all the British spotlight on Raducanu this year, Kartal has been flickering beneath, beating Otsapenko in the first round and breezing past Tomova in the second. Her opponent is the young and talented Parry, who came into this competition as a qualifier, beating the 12th seed Shnaider in the second round, giving Kartal a strong challenge to make it to the next round.
Mattia Bellucci (ITA) vs Cameron Norrie (GBR) – Norrie comfortably beat the world number 12, Tiafoe, in four sets and once again plays on his favoured court. Bellucci has also seen success in this year’s tournament, thrashing Lehecka in three sets, and will be hoping to build on that momentum. But that momentum may be cut short, with Norrie playing some of the best tennis he’s played since he reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 2022.
Elise Mertens (BEL) *24 vs Elina Svitolina (UKR) *14 – Svitolina has had quite an easy start to her Wimbledon campaign but now faces her toughest challenge yet. Mertens lost to Svitolina two weeks ago in Hamburg and will want to prove herself to be a top contender this year. Can she beat the two-time Wimbledon semi-finalist?
No 2 Court (11am)
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Naomi Osaka (JPN) – Former world number one, Osaka, has never found it easy on grass and finds herself in the third round for only the third time in her career. Normally we would say that the ‘third time’s the charm’, but will her forthcomings bite her again as she faces the 2025 Australian Open quarter-finalist – Pavlyuchenkova?
Laura Siegemund (GER) vs Madison Keys (USA) *6 – Keys has been looking strong in this year’s competition, never making it past the second round of Wimbledon before now. Will she be able to push past her struggles on grass and progress to the next round?
Nicolas Jarry (CHI) vs Joao Fonseca (BRA) – The young sensation, Fonseca, has shown potential on tour this year and has shown again and again how he could be another superstar in the making. He faces a tough challenge in Nicolas Jarry, who stylishly beat Holger Rune in the first round this year. Could there be a new underdog of this year's tournament?
No 3 Court
Dalma Galfi (HUN) vs Amanda Anisimova (USA) *13
Andrey Rublev *14 vs Adrian Mannarino (FRA)
Nuno Borges (POR) vs Karen Khachanov [17]
Court 12
Solana Sierra (ARG) vs Cristina Bucsa (ESP)
Kamilla Rakhimova vs Linda Noskova (CZE) *30
Kamil Majchrzak (POL) vs Arthur Rinderknech (FRA)
Court 18
Luciano Darderi (ITA) vs Jordan Thompson (AUS)
