Team GB back after 26 years

Following their epic Fed Cup success in Bath in February, Britain’s girls play their World Group II play-off with Kazakhstan at London’s Copper Box arena this weekend as they seek promotion to the second tier for the first time in 26 years. As with the previous round, Anne Keothavong’s has her strongest five players at her disposal, with Konta and Boulter likely to play the singles matches, with Watson, Dart and Swan waiting in the wings for an opportunity in the doubles. They will all be hoping to make the most of home advantage, and a win will almost certainly guarantee them a place in the new format when the Fed Cup is revamped for next year. With the home crowds certain to make themselves heard, it’s going to be a noisy couple of days.
