Summer of rackets continues at Wimbledon

With the All England Tennis Championships now in full swing and the weather looking glorious, the crowds are flocking to SW19, whether for the incomparable grass court play on view, or just for the champagne and strawberries. Although Johanna Konta and Harriet Dart, along with Dan Evans, have made it through to round three in the singles events, home interest will have to focus mainly on the doubles, where most notably Sir Andy Murray continues on his comeback trail, having already taken the men’s doubles title at Queen’s, but it is the mixed doubles that provides the most anticipation as he partners none other than Serena Williams. However, for once it is not just the big names grabbing all the attention, but instead the 15-year-old Cori Gauff who is on everyone’s lips, having brushed aside Venus Williams on her way to round three. Wimbledon is hotting up nicely.
