Players wrap up for French Open in the autumn

Hot on the heels of the US Open, we now have the rescheduled and restricted French Open taking place in Paris over the next fortnight. Having rolled back the years to battle through to the second round in New York, Sir Andy Murray is up against old adversary Stan Wawrinka at Roland Garros, whilst Johanna Konta faces teenage sensation Coco Gauff. Elsewhere in the draw Dan Evans, Cameron Norrie and Liam Broady all line up, as does Heather Watson in the women’s, whilst Kyle Edmund has withdrawn with injury. Having sat out the US Open, Rafa Nadal is seeking a remarkable 13th French crown, although he appears to have a bit of a bee in his bonnet over the switch to heavier and slower balls. Serena Williams, meanwhile, continues to chase the all-time record for grand slam singles titles, a target which is proving increasingly elusive to her. However, they will all have to contend with a complete lack of spectators, other than on the main show court, and somewhat cooler and more autumnal weather conditions than they are used to. It may feel a million miles away right now, but Wimbledon 2021 tickets and debentures are now available to buy, offering all the best Centre Court action next summer
