British wheelchair players chasing glory in New York

As the US Open tennis nears its conclusion at New York’s Flushing Meadows, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams are well on course to add to their already incredible list of Grand Slam singles titles, having swept aside all before them, whilst the likes of Djokovic, Federer, Osaka and Barty have all fallen unexpectedly. Despite another great run from Johanna Konta in reaching the last eight, and a nail-biting semi-final defeat to the top seeds and Wimbledon champions for Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski in the Men’s Doubles, British hopes now lie with Alfie Hewitt and Gordon Reid, who are eyeing their third successive US Open title having reached the final of the Men’s Wheelchair Doubles, whilst Andy Lapthorne is looking in great form in the Men’s Quad Wheelchair Singles.
